Trainings, Seminars I have attended:
Leadership
Training for Skagit Valley College ASB 2005: As president of
the ASB I attended a 3 day conference for other College leaders to
discuss programs and problems to be addressed at our home colleges.
Young Women's
Leadership conference 2004: I was selected to attend a Young
Women's Leadership Conference in New York and attend the Democratic
Convention at the same time.
AT&
T Young Leaders Award: I was selected to learn more about
on-line content and how to advocate for youth programs, while visiting
Washington D.C..
Elie Wiesel Foundation "Tomorrows
Leaders" : I was selected to study
for five days will Elie Wiesel a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate.
Eleanor Roosevelt Center at Val Kill
Girls Leadership Workshop I was selected to study for a
week with other girls my age that were demonstrating leadership
abilities.
Girl Scouts National - Leadership in the New
Millennium : I was selected to
attend this week long training for Girl Scouts that had demonstrated
leadership.
Teen Crisis Line 40 Hour Training &
Certification After my 40 hour training I staffed the
Teen Crisis line and was able to direct teens to people that could help
them with their problems.
Dispute
Resolution 40 Hour Mediation Training I used this training to
help with resolving conflicts with people I was helping to lead.
CPR and Food Handlers Permit: The CPR certificate came in handy when an adult friend of
mine that was two times my weight, got food caught. I was able to give
her the Heimlich Maneuver, lifting her off the ground. It is true that
in an emergency you have super human strength.
