Abstinence  Rings

Teenage pregnancy rates of all developed countries. 1,000,000 of our nation's teenagers become pregnant each year. Of those, 95% are unintended with almost 40% ending in abortion. Half of all unwed teenagers go on welfare within a year of the birth of their first child and more than 7% are on welfare for 5 years. In the U.S.A., 3 of 5 Latino teenagers become pregnant by age 20, and 72.9% of Latino teen mothers aged 15-19 are unmarried. Shocking statistics!

The method proven 100% effective to prevent teen pregnancy is abstinence education. The growing abstinence movement includes many programs ranging from inspirational speakers to curricula to virginity pledge efforts. Some of the well-known programs include "Sex Respect," "Young Lives," and "Best Friends."

Though the methods vary, true abstinence programs "cast a vision of human sexuality that's different from the vision in popular culture," says Robert Rector, senior research fellow for the Heritage Institute, a leading think tank in Washington, D.C. Abstinence programs build rapport with the students through a personal testimony. They communicate that sex encompasses all of you as a person. They emphasize the need to mature emotionally, mentally, and spiritually in order to enjoy the physical as God intended. They explain bonding in every level of relationships and explore the difference between love and infatuation.

A tool that can increase the effectiveness of any abstinence education program is the Abstinence Ring. Providing teens that make a commitment to abstain from premarital sex with a specially designed sterling silver ring enables them to exemplify their commitment to themselves and to others. The Ring discourages those seeking a sexual partner and it encourages peers to follow their example. Teens may present their Rings to their life partners as a gift at their marriages.

We offer two rings, one masculine and the other feminine. The men's ring is slightly wider than the women's ring, and has a square edge. The woman's ring has a rounded edge. Both men's and women's rings come in small, medium, and large sizes. All sizes are $7.95 each.
